Which colour, given it lives on the edge of the bath?

Both of those come down to the same thing: what happens after the bath, not during it. Positioning matters at the start, and drying matters at the end.

Baths have a design flaw nobody talks about: the part you rest your neck on is a hard right-angled edge of cold enamel. So you sit forward, your shoulders come out of the water and get cold, and after eleven minutes you decide the bath is finished. It isn't relaxation, it's endurance. The problem is entirely the edge, and it's the cheapest problem in the house to solve.

Why the cradle shape is the part that matters

A flat cushion pushes your head forward, which puts your chin on your chest and your neck in exactly the position that gives you a headache. A contoured cradle does the opposite — it fills the gap behind your neck and supports the base of your skull, so your head tips back slightly and your shoulders drop into the water. That angle is the whole difference between resting and holding yourself up.

The second half of the design is water. Anything in a bath is either sealed against water or it's a sponge, and a sponge in a warm humid bathroom is a bad idea within a fortnight.
