Which size — sofa blanket or bed cover?

Does a reversible blanket keep both faces looking right?

The two sides are the reason to buy it, so the whole care question is really about keeping both of them intact. Nothing complicated — the damage comes from heat, not from use.

Care: cold gentle machine wash on its own or with like colours, no bleach, no fabric softener. Dry flat or line dry. The step people skip — give it a good shake before it dries. A reversible blanket that dries in a lump comes out with one face pressed flatter than the other, and that unevenness is the one thing that does not come back with a wash.

Two finished faces is a build decision, not a printing trick

Most blankets have a good side and a functional one. The pattern is worked into the front, the back is whatever holds it together, and you can tell within a second of touching it which is which. A genuinely reversible blanket has to be constructed so both faces are surfaces — that means the design is built through the blanket rather than applied to the top of it, and it means neither side is doing the structural job while the other looks pretty.

That construction is also why a reversible blanket ages better. On a single-faced throw, all the wear happens to one surface: the same side gets sat on, dragged, and washed facing out every time. Flip this one and the wear distributes. The vintage-toned palette helps too — muted, slightly faded colours have nowhere obvious to fade to, so the blanket looks much the same in its third winter as its first.
