Which colourway — and does the size work for my bed?

There is one size, 150 × 200 cm, so the only decision is colour. That size is a generous single or a top layer on a double; it is a throw for one person on a sofa or a summer cover on a bed, not a full duvet replacement for two.

Choose If this sounds like you
Yellow & Grey Your room is grey, white or monochrome and could stand some warmth. The yellow does the lifting; the grey stops it looking like a children's room.
Light Tan & Blue You have navy or denim blue already in the bedding or the sofa, and you want the blanket to look like it belongs rather than like it was chosen separately.
Light Tan & Grey The quietest of the three. Right if the room is already busy, or if this is going in a guest room where it needs to work with whatever bedding gets put on next.

At 150 × 200 cm two of these across a queen works better than one — nobody has to negotiate.

Will a cooling blanket actually be too cold in winter?

No — cooling here means it doesn't trap your body heat, not that it actively chills you. That distinction is the whole reason it works across more of the year than a fleece throw does.

    Works for Not for
Hot sleepers, summer nights, anyone who wakes up damp under a synthetic throw, and layering over a duvet in colder months when you want weight without extra heat. Being your only cover in a cold room in January. It regulates temperature; it does not generate it.

Wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own, and line dry or tumble on the lowest setting. Bamboo fabric has a smooth surface and that surface is what does the cooling, so anything that coats it works directly against the thing you bought it for. The step people skip: leaving out the fabric softener. Softener leaves a residue that blocks the fibre from moving moisture, and a cooling blanket that can't move moisture is just a blanket.

Keep it off high heat. Hot drying is what stiffens the hand-feel that makes it worth having.

Stay under it all night instead of throwing it off at two in the morning.

There is a specific kind of bad night's sleep that has nothing to do with stress or noise. You start cold, pull the throw up, and forty minutes later you are too warm, so it goes on the floor, and then an hour after that you are cold again. Repeat until morning. That cycle is a fabric problem: synthetic throws hold your heat and your moisture against you until the only option is to remove them entirely. A bamboo blanket handles that differently — it stays cool to the touch when you first pull it over, and it keeps moving heat away instead of banking it, so the temperature under it holds steady and the blanket stays on the bed.

Bamboo is why it feels cold when you first touch it

Pick this up off a chair and it feels cooler than the room, and that is not a trick of the weave — it is the fibre. Bamboo fabric conducts heat away from your skin faster than cotton does and considerably faster than polyester, which is why the first contact registers as cool. More usefully, it keeps doing it. Over a night, the fibre wicks moisture off the skin and lets it evaporate rather than holding it in the cloth, so you never get to the clammy stage that ends with a throw on the floor. The surface is smooth in a way that matters if anything sticks or catches on your skin at night. And the maple leaf pattern is set across the face in two tones, which means the blanket reads as designed rather than as bedding — it looks right folded over the arm of a sofa in daylight, not just under someone at 3am.

    The three colourways

    • Yellow & Grey — the warmest and the most visible. Ochre leaves over cool grey, and the one that changes the temperature of a plain grey bedroom without any other purchase.
    • Light Tan & Blue — sandy leaves against blue, so it reads cooler from a distance and picks up navy or denim already in the room. The one that suits a coastal or Scandinavian palette.
    • Light Tan & Grey — tonal and low contrast. From across the room it looks like texture rather than pattern, which makes it the safest pick for a guest room or a rental.
