Which length do I need for my sofa?

Measure along the front of the sofa from arm to arm, then add roughly 41 cm for the drape you tuck in at each end. Every size is 180cm across, so the only decision is length. Too short and it pulls tight and slides off; too long is never a problem, the extra just falls down the side.

Will it slide off every time someone stands up?

It stays put on grippy sofas and creeps on slippery ones. That is true of every woven cover, so it is worth knowing which one you have before you buy.

Works on	Needs more tucking
Linen-look and cotton upholstery, bouclé, corduroy, velvet, worn fabric sofas.	Leather and faux leather — the weave has nothing to bite on and will walk down the seat.

To set it: centre it, smooth from the middle outwards, then push a good handful of fabric deep into the crease behind the seat cushions before you do anything to the arms. That last part is the step everyone skips, and it is the one that stops the whole thing sliding forward.

Sofas rarely wear out. They get a coffee ring on one arm, a patch where the dog sleeps, and a faded strip where the afternoon sun hits, and suddenly the whole room looks tired because of one piece of furniture. The pattern is woven in, not printed on

This matters more than it sounds. A printed cover shows its age fast — the print sits on the surface, and the first few washes flatten it into a grey smudge. Here the geometric motif is built from the weave itself, so the design has actual texture and the colour goes through the yarn rather than sitting on top of it. It also means the cover is reversible in practise: the pattern reads on both faces, one slightly stronger than the other, so a spill on one side is not the end of it.

The busy geometry is doing quiet practical work too. A plain cover shows every crease, every dent from where someone sat, and every crumb. A repeating pattern hides all three, which is why it still looks fine on a Wednesday evening rather than only in the first ten minutes after you smooth it out.

180x130cm — reads as a throw. Over the back of a sofa or across an armchair, ends hanging free.
180x180cm — square. Covers a two-seater seat and back with enough left to tuck once.
180x230cm — the workhorse. Three-seater, back and seat covered, a short fall over each arm.
180x260cm — same coverage with the arms fully wrapped instead of half.
180x300cm — four-seater, or one long run down a sectional with the surplus tucked at the corner.
180x340cm — the largest. For modular sofas where anything shorter leaves a bare patch at one end.
