Every size is 180 across, so the drop over the back and front never changes; only the run along the sofa does. Measure the seat from arm to arm and take the size above it, because the extra is what tucks in.

Choose	If this sounds like you
180x130cm or 180x180cm	An armchair, a reading chair, or the end of the sofa where the cat has decided it lives. The pair of sizes for covering one seat rather than a room.
180x230cm or 180x260cm	A two- or three-seater — the ordinary living room sofa. If you are guessing and your sofa is a normal sofa, this is the pair to guess from.
180x300cm or 180x340cm	A long sofa or an L-shape where one arm needs covering as well as the seat run. Enough length to turn a corner without pulling short.
180x380cm	A full corner unit, a modular sofa, or you want the whole thing swallowed and pooling on the floor at both ends.

Is leopard going to be too much for my living room?

Three steps to make it look styled rather than thrown. Drape it over the back and let the 180 depth fall naturally down the front. Push the slack into the crease behind the seat cushions along the full run so it stops sliding when people stand up. Then the step nearly everybody skips: take the cushions off, lay the throw, and put the cushions back on top — that is the entire difference between a magazine sofa and a covered sofa.

Why the scale of the spots decides whether it reads well

Leopard print goes wrong in one of two directions. Print the rosettes too small and from across the room the whole thing blurs into a flat brown smear — the pattern disappears and you are left with a beige blanket. Print them too large and a three-metre throw ends up showing four spots, which reads as costume rather than furnishing. The Savara pattern is drawn at the scale a sofa needs: big enough that individual rosettes stay legible from the far side of the room, small enough that the repeat still looks continuous when the fabric folds and tucks. That last part is the bit people forget — a sofa throw is never seen flat. It is seen draped, creased, and half-tucked, so the pattern has to survive being broken up by folds. Warm browns and blacks over a sand ground also carry the same tones as most timber and leather already in a living room, which is why animal print sits so comfortably in rooms where a bold solid colour would not.
