Which Size fits my sofa?

Every size is 180 cm deep — only the length changes. The depth handles the seat and the drape down the front. The length is what you match to your sofa, and the way to get it right is to run a tape measure across the back of the sofa from the outside of one arm to the outside of the other, following the curve rather than measuring the straight line.

180 × 130 cm	A single armchair or accent chair — usually the one the dog has claimed.
180 × 180 cm	A wide armchair, a recliner, or a very small two-seater where you want proper drape rather than a tight fit.
180 × 230 cm	A standard two-seater or loveseat. The most common apartment sofa.
180 × 260 cm	A compact three-seater, or a two-seater with wide rolled arms that eat length.
180 × 300 cm	A full three-seater. If you have a normal family lounge and you are guessing, this is the likeliest answer.

Will it slide off every time somebody sits down?

Only if you drape it and walk away. A cover that is laid flat over the top will creep, on any sofa, by anyone's brand. What holds it is fabric pushed deep into the crevice where the seat meets the back — that is the anchor, and it takes about a minute to do properly.

Works on	Avoid
Fabric and linen-weave sofas. Corduroy and velvet upholstery. Sofas with removable back cushions, which give you a deep crevice to tuck into. Older sofas with worn or stained arms you want hidden. Sectionals and chaises.	Smooth leather without tucking — it will slide, so tuck deeply or add grip strips. Sofas with fixed one-piece backs and no crevice at all. Curved or barrel-back designs, where a flat panel cannot follow the shape.

To fit: centre it across the back first, tuck the length down into the seat crevice with a flat hand or a wooden spoon handle, then work outward to each arm and tuck again, and finally straighten the front drape. The step people skip is the second tuck at the arms. Everyone does the middle and stops, and then the corners lift the first time someone sits on the end. Wash cold on gentle, tumble low or line dry, and skip the fabric softener — it flattens chenille pile.

Sofas do not wear out evenly. The frame is fine, the cushions are fine, and yet the arms have gone shiny, there is a patch where the dog sleeps, and somewhere near the middle is a mark from a spilled coffee two summers ago that never fully came out. It is not bad enough to replace and it is too visible to ignore, so you put a throw over it that slides onto the floor every evening. Chenille, and why reversible matters more than it sounds

Chenille is a pile yarn — short fibres bound into a core so the surface catches light differently depending on the angle you look at it. That is why it does not read as flat fabric thrown over furniture. It has enough weight to hang rather than float, which is the property that keeps a cover in place, and enough softness that it is pleasant to sit on directly in shorts, which most woven covers are not.

Reversible is doing quiet practical work. The obvious use is having two looks from one purchase. The real use is that when one side takes a spill, or the dog side gets hairy, you flip it and the sofa looks freshly done while the other face waits for laundry day. Over a couple of years that also halves the wear on any single surface, so the cover fades evenly instead of developing a worn strip along the front edge.

Mocha Cream — warm brown against off-white. The safest of the five in a room with timber floors and cream walls, and the one that hides everyday marks best without being dark.
Ebony Ivory — the highest-contrast option. Black lines on ivory read as graphic and modern, and it anchors a pale room that currently has nothing dark in it.
Amber Ash — warm amber with grey. The colour choice for a room that is otherwise all neutrals, adding heat without going orange.
Pearl Graphite — cool greys, quiet and architectural. Best in a room with concrete, steel or black window frames, where warm tones would look out of place.
