Which style should I get?

All three are three-tier caddies that do the same job — the difference is the finish and how much you need to hang off it. Match the metal to whatever your shower head and tap already are and it will look built in rather than added.

Choose If this sounds like you
Matte Black Classic Your bathroom has black tapware, or white tile you want a bit of contrast against. The most forgiving on limescale marks, which show up worst on shiny finishes.
Chrome Silver Hooked Your shower is standard chrome and you want the caddy to disappear. The hooks are the point here — loofah, razor, kids' bath toys in a mesh bag, all off the shelves.
Wider Black Grid A shared or family bathroom where three people have three separate sets of bottles, and every previous caddy has ended up overloaded on one shelf.

If you are already stacking bottles two-deep on the tub edge, go wider.

Where in the shower should it actually go?

Height matters more than people expect, and the wrong wall is the most common mistake. A caddy positioned badly is one you duck around for the next four years.

Good spots Avoid
The wall beside the valve, at chest height with your arm relaxed. A side wall out of the direct spray. A tiled corner where nothing swings past it Directly under the shower head — the shelves sit permanently flooded and bottles get slimy. Anywhere a glass door or screen swings through. Grout lines and uneven tile edges, which stop it sitting flat

Clean the wall with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely before you fix anything — soap film is invisible and it is why things fall down a fortnight later. The step nearly everyone skips is standing in the shower first and reaching for an imaginary bottle with your eyes shut. Wherever your hand lands is the right height. Mark it, then fix it there rather than where the tile grid happens to suggest.

Three shelves, and the floor of the shower is empty for the first time in years.

The bottles start on the tub edge. Then there are too many, so a few go on the floor of the shower, where they collect a ring of pink slime underneath and have to be lifted every single time you clean. Then someone buys a conditioner in a tall bottle that does not fit anywhere, and it lives permanently in the corner getting kicked over. None of this is a storage problem exactly — it is that a shower has one flat surface and four people's worth of things.

Drainage is the whole game in a wet room

Every shower caddy fails the same way. Water pools on a solid shelf, sits under the base of a bottle, and within weeks there is a rust ring, a soap crust, or both. An open grid or slotted shelf changes the arithmetic completely: water leaves as fast as it arrives, the underside of every bottle gets airflow, and there is nothing for scum to build up in. It is also why cleaning takes seconds — there is no lip holding a puddle of gunk that has to be wiped out.

The second thing that decides how long a caddy lasts is the finish, not the metal underneath. Shower air is warm, wet and full of surfactants, and a painted or thinly coated frame will bubble at the welds first, then rust outward from there. That is the corner to check on any caddy after a year — where two bars meet is where it starts.

  • Matte Black Classic — flat black, three tiers. Reads as deliberate against white tile and pairs with black tapware. Water spots and limescale show less on matte than on polished finishes.
  • Chrome Silver Hooked — bright silver with hooks along the underside. The hooks change how much it holds, because razors, loofahs and bath toy bags stop taking up shelf space.
  • Wider Black Grid — the same black finish on a wider frame with an open grid base. This is the one for a shared bathroom, where the constraint is not height but how many bottles fit side by side.

What You're Getting

  • One three-tier shower caddy in your chosen Style
  • Three separate shelves, so tall conditioner bottles and short soap bars stop competing for the same surface
  • Open, draining shelf design that does not hold standing water under bottle bases
  • A finish made for a permanently damp room rather than a painted one that bubbles at the welds
  • Hooks on the Chrome Silver Hooked style for razors, loofahs and mesh toy bags
  • Extra width on the Wider Black Grid style for shared and family bathrooms
  • Care: wipe down with a damp cloth. For limescale, white vinegar on a cloth, left five minutes, then rinsed
  • Do not use abrasive pads or bleach-based scrubs on the finish — that is what starts the corrosion you were trying to avoid
