Will the pump clog, and can I put anything in it?

Pumps do not wear out, they gum up — and what you fill it with decides whether that happens. Thick, undiluted product is the culprit almost every time.

Why ceramic beats plastic on a wet bench

A light plastic dispenser slides backwards on a wet surface, which is exactly when you are least able to stop it. Second, the glazed surface is non-porous, so soap residue and hard-water marks wipe straight off rather than etching in the way they do on a matte plastic shell that has gone slightly chalky after a year. The tradeoff is honest: ceramic is not forgiving if you knock it into a tiled floor. Keep it back from the edge.
