Which size — and is the smallest one a cot blanket?

120 × 150 cm is the one people ask about, and it is a child-and-sofa size rather than a bed size. The other two are proper bed layers. Pick on who is under it.

Will the embroidery pull or come loose in the wash?

Embroidery is stitched, not printed, which makes it far tougher than a print — but it does have edges that can catch. Treat the washing machine as the risk, not everyday use.

Safe	Avoid
Cold wash, gentle cycle, washed on its own or with other soft cotton items.	Washing it with zips, buckles, hooks or anything that can hook a stitch and pull a loop.
Tumble low, or dry flat in shade so the embroidered areas dry at the same rate as the ground.	Hot washes and hot drying, which shrink cotton ground faster than stitching and pucker the design.
Spot-cleaning a mark with a damp cloth and dabbing, rather than a full wash.	Scrubbing directly at the embroidery, and bleach anywhere near it.

If a stitch does pull into a loop, do not cut it — ease it back flat from the reverse with a fingernail. Cutting a pulled loop is the one mistake that turns a fixable snag into a permanent gap.

A printed design is pigment sitting on top of cotton. Every wash takes a fraction of it away, every rub against a duvet cover takes a little more, and after a year the edges have gone soft and the colours have dropped a shade. It is a slow decline you do not notice until you compare it to a new one. Embroidery works differently: the design is thread, physically stitched into the cloth, so there is nothing on the surface to wear off. It goes through a hundred washes and the bunny is still the same bunny.

A raised stitched motif gives the surface a texture you can find without looking, which is the exact thing children fixate on — the same instinct that makes them rub a label or a satin edge. On a cotton ground that softens with washing, you end up with a blanket that gets nicer to hold over time while the design stays crisp. That combination is rare, and it is entirely down to the fact that the pattern is sewn rather than printed.
