Every size is 180 cm deep — so I'm only choosing the length?

Correct. The 180 cm is the measurement that runs over the seat and down the front, and it is the same on all six. What changes is how far along the sofa it reaches. Measure the length of your seating area, not the outside of the frame, and pick the size that covers it.

180 × 130 cm	A single armchair or a recliner. The one to buy if you are protecting the chair the dog has claimed.
180 × 150 cm	A compact two-seater or a love seat in a flat, where the sofa is barely longer than it is deep.
180 × 180 cm	A standard two-seater. The most common sofa in most homes, and the safest starting point if you are guessing.
180 × 260 cm	A three-seater. Enough length to cover the full run of cushions with a bit spare at each end.

Is it going to slide off every time somebody sits down?

A draped cover moves — that is true of all of them — but how much depends almost entirely on the sofa underneath. Fleece grips fabric upholstery reasonably well and grips leather very badly.

The step people skip: push the surplus deep into the crease between seat and back with a flat hand, all the way along, before you sit on it. Sixty seconds of tucking is the difference between a cover that stays and a cover you re-lay twice a day.

Sofas do not wear out evenly. The arms go shiny, one seat cushion goes flat and slightly darker than the others, and there is a patch where the dog gets on. None of it is bad enough to justify a new sofa, and all of it is the first thing you see when you walk into the room. Fleece is what makes a cover worth using

A sofa cover has to survive being sat on every evening, which rules out anything thin. Fleece has two properties that suit the job exactly. First, the pile has a slight grab to it, so it holds against fabric upholstery rather than sliding the way a flat woven throw does. Second, it has enough body to hide what is underneath — a thin cover telegraphs every lump and seam of the cushion below it and ends up looking worse than the sofa did. The herringbone leaf design adds a third thing: a repeating directional texture across the surface, which breaks up light and disguises the creases and sit-marks that any cover picks up during a normal evening. A flat plain fleece shows every one of them.

Khaki — muted green-brown. The most forgiving of the four for a household with pets or children, because it hides both dark and light marks.
Beige — warm neutral. Lightens a dark sofa and works in a room with wood floors and cream walls. The choice if the cover should look like part of the furniture.
Grey — mid cool grey. The safest match for a sofa that is already grey, and the one that looks most deliberate in a modern room.
Black — the practical extreme. Nothing shows, and the leaf pattern reads as texture rather than motif. Best in a room that already has dark elements to balance it.
