Which width do I need over my bed?

Every size here is 240 cm long, so the length down the bed is already settled — you are only choosing how far the coverlet reaches across and over the sides. Measure the width of your mattress, decide how much drop you want hanging down each side, and add roughly double that to the mattress width.

Choose If this sounds like you
150 × 240 cm A single bed, a guest room daybed, or a narrow bed you want covered without a lot of fabric pooling on the floor.
200 × 240 cm A standard double where you want a modest, tucked-looking drop each side rather than a sweep to the floor.
220 × 240 cm A queen, or a double with a deep mattress and a topper that eats the drop you thought you had.
250 × 240 cm A king, or two people who each pull the covers their own way overnight and want the extra width to fight over.

If your bed sits against a wall, remember one whole side of the drop is invisible — size for the side you can see.

With Pillowcases or Without — and will the jacquard survive a wash?

Take With Pillowcases if you want the matching set out of the box; take Without Pillowcases if your pillows are already dressed in something you like. The bigger question is the wash, because a woven jacquard behaves differently from a printed quilt: the pattern is in the structure of the cloth, so it cannot fade off, but the raised weave can snag.

    Works Avoid
Cold gentle cycle, washed on its own or with other bedding. Washing it in with zips, buckles or anything hooked — raised weave catches.
Low tumble, or line drying folded over two lines to carry the weight. Hanging it wet from a single line by one edge, which drags the weave out of square.
Shaking it out and spreading it flat while still slightly damp. Bleach, and hot washes that flatten the texture out of the ginkgo motif.

Wash cold and gentle, dry low, and spread it on the bed while it is still a touch damp so it settles flat as it finishes drying. That last part is the step everyone skips, and it saves you ironing a coverlet, which nobody wants to do twice.

One layer, two bedrooms — flip it and the room changes.

Most bedding gives you one look until you buy more bedding. A reversible coverlet gives you two: floral side up in spring when the room needs lifting, ginkgo side up when you want it calmer. It also solves the specific annoyance of the summer bed — too warm for a duvet, too cool for a sheet — by giving you a single flat layer you can actually sleep under in July, and fold across the foot of the bed in December.

Jacquard means the pattern is woven, not printed

This is the difference that decides how the coverlet looks in three years. A printed quilt has ink sitting on a flat surface: it looks sharp on day one, then softens with every wash until the pattern is a suggestion. In a jacquard the ginkgo leaves and the floral field are built into the weave itself, with the threads changing direction to make the motif. You can feel the pattern with your hand. It catches light along the leaf edges as you walk past the bed, and because there is nothing on the surface to wear off, it survives the laundry that would flatten a print.

Being woven both sides is also why it reverses honestly. There is no dull backing here — both faces are finished, so the "wrong" side is just the other design.

    Your choices, laid out

    • 150 × 240 cm — the single-bed and daybed width. Neat, minimal overhang.
    • 200 × 240 cm — double bed width with a controlled drop each side.
    • 220 × 240 cm — queen width, and the safe pick for a deep mattress.
    • 250 × 240 cm — king width, the fullest drop of the four.
    • Without Pillowcases — the coverlet alone. For anyone whose pillows are already sorted, or who prefers a plain pillow against a patterned bed.
    • With Pillowcases — the matching option, so the ginkgo motif carries up to the head of the bed instead of stopping at the pillow line.
