The underside of a wall cabinet, just above the counter. The end panel of a cabinet run. The inside of a sink cupboard door. A flat, clean, dry wall section beside the sink. Laundry, garage, workshop, caravan.	Directly above a cooktop, where the roll catches heat and steam. Textured or heavily bumpy wallpaper. The wall right behind the sink where the roll gets splashed every time you rinse a pan. Anywhere a swinging cupboard door will hit it.

Before you fix anything: hold a full roll where you want the holder and check two things — that the roll clears the counter or the shelf below it, and that you can get a hand under it from your natural standing position. The step people skip is the clearance check underneath. Mount it too low under a cabinet and a fresh roll fouls the kettle, and you only find out once it is already up. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth before fitting, whatever surface it is.
