Coral Orange or Purple?

Why is my new towel not absorbing?

Why the size matters more than people expect

31 by 160 cm is a proper bath sheet footprint rather than the shorter towel most bathrooms are stocked with. The practical difference shows up in two places: you can wrap it around yourself and it stays put without a hand holding it, and you can dry your back in one pass instead of sawing at it. It also means more cotton surface, and surface area is what absorption actually is — a towel doesn't soak water up by being thick, it soaks it up by having more loop to hold it. The two colourways

Coral Orange — warm pink-orange ground with the rose pattern picked out in it. Against cream tile and timber it looks like part of the room. Also the more forgiving of the two on marks between washes.
Purple — a deeper, cooler ground. In an all-white bathroom this is the single item that gives the room a colour, and it holds up next to chrome and grey stone where warmer tones can look out of place.
