Which size, and who is going to use it?

Size is the decision that matters here — all five colours are the same blanket with the same smiley print. Pick by the person and the piece of furniture, not by the number.

71 × 100 cm	It's for a small child, a stroller, a car seat or a nursery chair. Small enough that a toddler can drag it around the house themselves, which is the entire point of a toddler blanket.
120 × 120 cm	A kid or a teenager on the sofa, or a lap blanket at a desk. The square shape is the one that works wrapped round shoulders rather than laid over legs.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own, and tumble on the lowest heat or air setting. The step people skip: leaving out the fabric softener. Softener coats plush fibres and is the actual reason a blanket that felt wonderful in week one feels waxy by month three. It needs nothing added — the pile is soft on its own.
