M, XL or 3XL — how do you want the robe to sit?

Three sizes with real space between them, so this is a decision about drape rather than a decision about a half-inch. A wrap robe has no fixed closure, so a larger size does not mean a baggy fit — it means more overlap at the front and more fabric in the fall.

Choose If this sounds like you
M You want the robe close to the body, worn over nothing much, and you dislike swimming in fabric.
XL The middle ground and the one most people want — comfortable overlap at the front, and room to wear it over pyjamas on a cold morning.
3XL You want the deeply-wrapped, hotel-spa version with real weight in the drape, or you are buying for someone taller than average.

Note there is no L or 2XL here — if you sit between two of these, the larger one is the safer buy on a wrap robe.

Jacquard looks delicate — can I actually wash it?

Yes, and the pattern will not wash out, because it is not printed on. Jacquard is woven, so the design is built into the structure of the fabric. What it does not like is friction and heat, both of which pull at the raised areas of the weave.

    Do this Avoid this
Cold gentle wash with the belt tied loosely so it cannot whip around Washing it with towels, jeans or anything with a zip or a hook
Hang on a broad hanger while damp so the shoulders keep their line Leaving it screwed up in the drum, which sets creases into the weave
Cool iron on the reverse if it needs it A hot iron on the face, which flattens the raised pattern permanently

The step people skip is tying the belt before it goes in. A loose robe belt in a washing machine wraps itself around everything and drags on the weave for the whole cycle, which is how the front panels end up looking pulled.

The difference between owning a dressing gown and owning a robe.

Most people's bathrobe is a functional object: thick, shapeless, the colour of porridge, chosen entirely for absorbency and kept because replacing it never reaches the top of the list. It works, and it looks like nothing. A jacquard robe is the version you are not slightly embarrassed to answer the door in — same morning routine, same tie at the waist, but the fabric has a pattern woven through it that catches light as you move, which is why it reads as something you chose rather than something you ended up with.

What jacquard actually is, and why it costs more to make

A printed pattern is ink sitting on the surface of a finished fabric. Jacquard is a pattern created during weaving, by controlling individual warp threads so the design emerges from the interlacing itself. The loom setup is slower and more complex, which is the honest reason jacquard fabric is not used on a basic robe. What you get for it is a pattern with physical relief — raised and recessed areas that hold light differently, so the design shifts as the fabric moves rather than staying flat like a print. It also cannot fade off, crack or wash away, because there is no separate layer to lose. Practically, it means the robe still looks like the robe you bought after a year of Sunday mornings, which is not the usual trajectory for anything that lives on a bathroom hook.

    Which colour to pick

    • Midnight Romance — the dark one, and the one where the jacquard reads most strongly, because the whole pattern shows through shifts in sheen rather than through colour. The most forgiving of the four in daily use.
    • Lover's Cream — the pale neutral, closest to a hotel robe. Quiet, and it makes the weave look like texture rather than decoration.
    • Couple's Rose — a warm rose rather than a bright pink. It is the colour that most obviously reads as a gift, which is what a lot of these are bought as.
    • Lavender Bliss — soft and muted, the calmest of the four. Works in a bathroom that already leans grey or white and would look cold with a stronger colour in it.

    What You're Getting

    • One Solane Luxe Jacquard Bathrobe in your chosen Colour and Size
    • Three sizes — M, XL and 3XL
    • Four colours — Midnight Romance, Lover's Cream, Couple's Rose and Lavender Bliss
    • Jacquard weave — the pattern is woven into the fabric, so it cannot fade off or crack
    • Raised and recessed texture that shifts with the light instead of sitting flat like a print
    • Wrap front with a tie belt, so you set how much overlap you want
    • Cold gentle machine wash, belt tied, away from zips and hooks
    • Hang damp on a broad hanger; cool iron on the reverse only, never on the pattern face
