What size do I actually need?

The mandala print is printed to scale, so every size shows the full pattern — you are only choosing coverage. The difference between them is whether this lives on a sofa, a bed, or across the foot of one.

Choose If this sounds like you
120 × 200 cm One person, one sofa corner, evenings that end with the blanket still on. Also the size that goes in the car for away games.
180 × 200 cm A full or queen bed you want the mandala visible on, or two people who each want their own edge to hold.
200 × 230 cm A king bed where you want the print to be the thing you see when you walk in, with sides that reach past the mattress.

People who buy the 180 × 200 cm for the bed tend to come back for the 120 × 200 cm for the sofa. Consider yourself warned.

Which side goes up, and how do I stop it going crunchy?

Printed velvet on one face, sherpa on the other — both sides are meant to be used. Flip it seasonally: print up when you want the room to look finished, sherpa up when you actually want to be warm.

    Fine Avoid
Cold gentle machine wash, on its own Washing it with towels, which leaves lint stuck in the sherpa
Low tumble dry, or hang over a rail to finish Hot drying, which is what turns soft sherpa into a scouring pad
A cool iron on the velvet side if it creases in storage Bleach or spot-treating the print with anything harsh

The step people skip: brush the sherpa side with your hand against the nap while it is still slightly damp. It separates the curls before they set, and the difference in how it feels a week later is not subtle.

A blanket you leave out on purpose, not one you hide when people come over.

The usual sherpa throw is a functional object. It is beige, it is warm, and it lives folded behind a cushion because it does nothing for the room. This one has a full mandala printed across the velvet face, so the side that faces up is the reason you bought it. You get the same weight and the same warmth, minus the part where you tidy it away before anyone visits.

Why the two-face build is the whole point

A single-layer printed throw is thin, and a single-layer sherpa throw is plain. Bonding the two gives you a blanket with a structured face and an insulating one, and that combination is what makes it behave differently across the year. The velvet side is smooth and slightly cool to the touch, so it does not stick to bare legs in warmer months. The sherpa side is curled pile that traps air, which is what does the actual heating in January. Because the print sits on the velvet rather than being woven through, the mandala keeps its edges sharp instead of blurring into the weave the way a jacquard pattern eventually does.

    • Milkshake White — cream ground with the mandala in soft contrast. The one for a bedroom that is already neutral and does not need another strong colour.
    • Sakura Pink — pale blossom pink. Reads sweet on a bed, less so on a dark leather sofa, where it turns into a genuine focal point.
    • Caramel — warm golden tan. Picks up wood tones and works in a room that gets low afternoon light.
    • Star Grey — mid grey with the pattern in tonal relief. Chosen by people who want the texture and the print but not the colour conversation.
